A cheeky Saturday Session! (on Valentines day as well!!!!)

Date: 14.2.15

I cant believe they sneaked a session in without even asking me!!!!! while I was enjoying the delights of smelly nappies and learning 101 tricks to make a crying baby stop, Dad and Simon it seems had snuck out for a cheeky garage session at the weekend!!!!!

This I was told was due to the lack of productivity on Simon's part, as he was busy putting shelves up on Tuesday!

Anyway here is dad's report (personally I think he has writers block!!!)

Si and I

Removed remains of Pintle support bracket ( 3rd party bodge) cleaned up and primed. Rivets were drilled out and removed.

the back end looking a little less like a H&S risk!
So as you can see thankfully Dad gave us a picture as well. think i might try and get up there next week otherwise this will be an extremely short blog!!!!

Still a Man Down

Date: 9.2.16

I am still out of action (but I feel with a Valid reason!!!) but dad and Si have been out in the cold cracking on.

Here is Dad's report (some might start to think he is a man of few words!!!! This is in fact not true!!)

"Si Baz and Me ( Si worked on garage cupboards)
Cleaned chassis and removed Transmission Support Member
I removed brake and clutch pedal assembly
We decided to remove remains of old pintle hook brace and replace whole of new unit rather than welding to old stubs".

"11/2/16 I cleaned TSM of old hard oil/ sand residue and found original paint surface. Worked on straightening ends of TSM and decided to give one end to Si to improve look".

So again not masses to report but as you can see it is moving along

I think this is the support member.

Two man team go forth!

Date: 2.2.16

Due to the arrival of "the Wee man" I was unable to attend "Jeep club" tonight but as the 1st rule of Jeep club is talk about Jeep club I am updating the Blog instead!!!!

Dad and Si soldiered on (get it! Army Jeep, Soldier... Anyway).

Dad did the honours of sending through the email of what was done here it is

"Si and me (5m/h) only as Ren came home today.
Engine and gear-box removed as on unit using Si’s crane.
parts ordered fro “Jeeparts”  "

So what I think this means is.... Only the two of them as Ren my son came home form the hospital, but they did manage to get the engine and gearbox out thanks to Si's engine hoist.

Not a bad effort for the two man team.

engine out. Apparently it was quite heavy!!!!!

Seems dad has also been in contact with "Jeep parts" who seem to be very friendly and helpful. He has already started buying essential bits!! Remember that we said we wanted to use as much of the existing bits as we could but we have found some items such as part of the subframe which are essential for H&S so they have to be replaced. This I believe is partly due to the last owner cutting and shutting the back!!!
